Whether you're 8 or 80 - come out and experience two of Kingston's best assets - great wind and water. Collins Bay Yacht Club Sailing School offers an ideal location for beginner sailors and those wanting to refresh their skills on the sheltered waters of Collins Bay in the city's west end.We offer two week summer camps for youth age 8 to 17, as well as four week evening sessions for adults in June, July and August. Our Canadian Yachting Association certified instructors take each student through the basics of sailing including rigging a boat, points of sail, rules of the water and general sailing safety. Students, both youth and adult, work at their own pace toward Canadian Yachting Association national "Learn to Sail" standards - White Sail I, II & III. Our more advanced sailors can pursue their sailing interests in our Bronze IV & V program which teaches them about tuning a boat, sailing in stronger winds, advanced sailing theory, as well as the use of spinnakers. |
